Rohit Sharma, Gayle, and Afridi Dominate International Cricket’s Most Sixes Record

Rohit Sharma is famous for hitting lots of sixes, and he’s not too far from breaking the record for hitting the most sixes in international cricket. Right now, that record is held by Chris Gayle from the West Indies. With the ODI World Cup coming up in 2023, Rohit has a good chance to break the record.
Chris Gayle: the man with most sixes in international cricket
Chris Gayle, also known as the Universe Boss, has hit 553 sixes during his 22-year international career. He played in 551 innings across 483 matches and managed to hit at least one six in each inning.

The current Indian captain is getting close to Gayle on the list of most sixes in international cricket. He has hit an impressive 539 sixes in 467 innings. Sharma also has the highest sixes-per-match percentage among the top 50 six-hitters of all time, hitting 1.15 sixes in each inning he plays.
Shahid Afridi
Shahid Afridi, the former Pakistan all-rounder, was famous for his immense power. He used to hold the record for the most sixes hit, with 476 maximums in 509 innings. On average, Afridi hit 0.93 sixes in every inning during his 22-year career.
Brendon McCullum
Brendon McCullum, who currently serves as the head coach of the England Test team, is renowned for leading New Zealand’s cricketing success in the 2010s. Despite his relatively small stature, this wicketkeeper-batsman displayed an incredible ability to hit sixes. McCullum managed to smash 398 sixes in 474 innings over his 14-year career, with an average of 0.83 sixes per match.
