Rob Gronkowski Named Only Reasons To Come out of His Retirement
Former Patriots/Buccs tight end Rob Gronkowski names the only way that would make him come out of his retirement.
Recently Gronkowski appeared on the Kay Adams show “Up & Adams”, and talked about the NFL and his records as a TE. Adams asked Gronkowski whether he’s sweating his single-season tight end touchdown record falling in the near future.
To which Gronkowski replied, “No. But if someone beats it, I’m coming back to football.”
Gronkowski said,
“That’s the only way I will come back to the NFL is if someone beats my touchdown record. Because that record is mine. You can take the receiving record, you can take as many touchdowns in three games, or two games, or a one-game record. That touchdown record by a tight end is my record. I’m proud of it. I love it. And if someone beats it I have to come back and try to reclaim it.”
‼️ If any tight end breaks Gronk’s single-season receiving TD record (17 in 2011), he has no choice but to come back to the NFL and reclaim what is rightfully his. ?

Gronkowski set the record in his second season as a New England Patriot when he caught 90 passes for 1,327 yards and 17 scores in 2011. Gronkowski went on to have three more double-digit touchdown seasons but in most cases, injuries got in the way of him matching his own record.
Let’s not forget Rob Gronkowski who retired after the 2021 season, said in August “he would consider a return with the New York Giants.”
Now we know one more way to unretire the former star tight end.
