Reports: The Golden State Warriors demanded NBA to investigate CJ McCollum's trade to the Pelicans

This season was one of the most dramatic trade seasons in the history of the NBA. With the trade of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, the All-Star players found a new franchise and the teams wanted to get a second-round pick to improve their rosters, without sacrificing the firsts.

Recently, the biggest topic of discussion is coming from a trade that consisted of the Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, and Portland Trail Blazers. Though there were many moving parts in the trade, the Warriors parted ways with James Wiseman and sent him to Detroit. They then sent to the Blazers to reacquire Gary Payton II, leaving the Warriors as a free agent in the summer.

The Warriors were misled by the Blazers

The Blazers misled the Warriors, telling them that Gary Payton II was facing health issues. The trade was almost canceled.

The Warriors believed that Blazers did the same thing one season before when they traded Larry Nance and C.J. McCollum to the Pelicans.

Chris Haynes reported that the NBA will be asked to look into it.

“I was told they urged the league to look into (CJ McCollum) and Larry Nance Jr. They believe that a similar incident happened in that deal and they feel like the Blazers may have a pattern of doing something where they’re either withholding information or presenting misleading information. Without having all the details, what I do know is the Warriors have made it clear that the league need to look into that trade from last year… You can expect the league to call New Orleans to see what they say and give their take on what happened in that deal.”

This could leave a negative impact on the Blazers, as it seems like a pattern and they can get sanctioned for it. But, as for now, the NBA will have to investigate the claims set forth by the Golden State Warriors and come to any decision.
