Reports: Philadelphia 76ers “Plan to Sign” Mac McClung, the recent Bulls and Lakers player
The Philadelphia 76ers are amongst the best teams in the NBA, and this season was a great one for the team. They have a 37-19 record in 56 games and are situated as the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported on Tuesday that the 76ers are “planning to sign” Mac McClung out of the G League.
Here is what came from Shams Charania:
“The Philadelphia 76ers plan to sign guard Mac McClung on two-way NBA contract out of their G League Delaware Blue Coats affiliate, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. On cusp of his Dunk Contest appearance, McClung gets call up to the NBA.”
Charania added to this and reported that in order to get Mac McClung the 76ers would be waiving Julian Champagnie.
About McClung
McClung was a pro college basketball player who played for Georgetown and Texas Tech.
In 2021, he was left undrafted. Later, he played two games as a rookie for the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls.
In 2022-23, McClung played for the Golden State Warriors, but later he was waived. He was an outstanding player of the G League as he averaged 19.1 points per game on 57.9% shooting from the field and 50% shooting from 3-point range.
