Reports: Lionel Messi is closer to joining Barcelona due to an internal problem at PSG
Lionel Messi is reportedly intending to return to Barcelona due to an ‘internal problem’ at Paris Saint Germain. He could move on a free transfer as he will be out of contract this summer.
According to the El Nacional report, PSG, to avoid their FFP issues, will have to reduce their wage by 30%. The last financial year for the French side was €390 million over the limit, and they have a lot to do to balance their finances.
What pushed Messi toward Barcelona
As per the reports, these financial issues are responsible for pushing Messi towards Barcelona, who themselves are facing a financial crisis. Messi can go back to the club, due to this financial instability.
But it is worth noting that his brother, Matias, who went viral last week talked about Messi’s return to the team. He claimed that Messi will not return to Barcelona, at least not until Barcelona’s president Loparta was dethroned.
Matias said, “I have a SPORT clip that says ‘Messi should return to Barcelona’ and I said ‘hahahaha, we are not going back to Barcelona’, and if we do, we are going to do a good cleaning. Among them, kick out Joan Laporta.”
“People [in Barcelona] did not support him. They should have gone out for a protest or something. Let Laporta leave and Messi stay. The Spanish are traitors. I’m telling this because I want it to come out of our guts.”
Though, he opened up about his statement and claimed that it was nothing but a mere joke. He even apologized for it.
But who knows the psyche of Matias and what Messi wants for himself?
