Reports: For Atlanta Hawks, Kyle Korver will act as Assistant General Manager
Kyle Korver is moving into a front office role with less than a month until the trade deadline.
According to Forbes, the Atlanta Hawks are promoting him to assistant general manager. Since his playing career ended, Kyle Korver has taken on many different roles.
Last season, he was an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets under Steve Nash. After working for the Nets for a certain time, Kyle Korver came back to the Hawks and was the organization’s director of player development.
Kyle Korver has a history with the Atlanta Hawks
Korver is very familiar with the organization of the Hawks, as he spent five years with the team during his playing days. This is great news for Korver and the Hawks; they have their work cut out for them.
With a record of 19-22 on the year, changes should need to be made if Atlanta wants to be a threat in the postseason. Not only did Korver play in the leagues, but Landry Fields did as well.
Fields were in the league for five years as a member of the New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors.
Hawks to name Kyle Korver as assistant GM
Korver spent about four seasons with the Hawks as a player & was a main role in a 60-win group from 2014-15. He is one of the greatest shooters in NBA history and, by all accounts, a first-class human being.
On Friday morning, the team will be handled by the new director of player affairs and development, former Hawks player Kyle Korver, who will take on the role of assistant general manager.
Korver was promoted after spending many months as the franchise’s director of player affairs & development and will play a significant role under general manager Landry Fields.
