Reason Why Damian Lillard is Upset With Blazers, Trade Rumors
Damian Lillard, an American professional basketball player has just shocked the entire NBA community by requesting a trade. Yes, it’s just been made clear that Lillard no longer wants to be with the Portland Trail Blazers and requested for a Trade and not just this he even sent major reverberations throughout the NBA.
Damian Lillard was always considered one of the most loyal superstars in the NBA. He made every effort to stay with the Portland Trail Blazers much longer than many other players would have. But something changed.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, Lillard reached a point where he felt let down by the Blazers on multiple occasions. The team’s actions or decisions may have caused him to lose trust and become frustrated.
“Lillard was still hopeful that the Blazers would find the kind of deal that would make him want to stay. But nothing of substance would emerge,” he reported.
The end of the line came when free agency commenced.
“When the Blazers had a quiet first night of free agency, re-signing forward Jerami Grant on a five-year, $160 million deal but failing to add any new players, that was the unofficial end,” Amick continued.
“Then after a late-night phone conversation with Blazers coach Chauncey Billups in which they discussed the unfortunate state of affairs, Lillard made up his mind: It was time to leave Portland for [the] Miami [Heat].”
Right now, there’s a problem with the trade offer from the Miami Heat for Damian Lillard. The Portland Trail Blazers are not happy with it. The Heat wants to have Lillard in their team, but they don’t have enough valuable things to offer in return.
Some people are talking about a trade involving three teams that could work better. And there’s another team that could be a surprise contender for getting Lillard, waiting for the right time to make a move.
Let’s wait and see where Lillard will go next.
