Reaction on Accusations Made By Michael Oher ‘Blind Side’ Star Against Family

Michael Oher, the former Ole Miss football player has been going viral again for getting into trouble again. He reportedly made Accusations against the family who adopted him.

Everyone gets inspired by Oher’s story of his journey from a homeless person to draft glory. His journey was shown in the movie featuring Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw, who has made a legal filing against his adopted family.

“Former NFL player Michael Oher, subject of “The Blind Side,” petitioned a court Monday with allegations that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy never adopted him, instead tricking him into signing a document making them his conservators and enriching themselves,” ESPN reported.

The details are troubling:

The 14-page petition, filed in Shelby County, Tennessee, probate court, alleges that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, who took Oher into their home as a high school student, never adopted him. Instead, less than three months after Oher turned 18 in 2004, the petition says, the couple tricked him into signing a document making them his conservators, which gave them legal authority to make business deals in his name.

The petition further alleges that the Tuohys used their power as conservators to strike the deal that paid them and their two birth children millions of dollars in royalties from an Oscar-winning film that earned more than $300 million, while Oher got nothing for a story “that would not have existed without him.” In the years since, the Tuohys have continued calling the 37-year-old Oher their adopted son and have used that assertion to promote their foundation as well as Leigh Anne Tuohy’s work as an author and motivational speaker.

Fans are saddened.

“I knew it! I never bought into their “story”. Extremely self-serving and fraudulent then entire time. SMH,” one fan wrote.

“I really wish I was surprised reading this but I’m not. I hope Michael Oher gets the monies he’s owed. With regards to the Tuohy’s, if the allegations are true, no words,” one fan added.

“Don’t surprise me one bit.. he said the story itself was overblown years ago,” another fan added.
