Ray Lewis III Died at 28 Hated To Be Called ‘Son of Hall Of Famer Ray Lewis’

Everybody is shocked by the heart-wrenching news of Ray Lewis III. The news is filled with headlines of former ‘Hall famer son’ died or ‘two times Superbowl Champion’s’ son died.

Late Lewis III hated all his life to be called by all these titles above. In an interview about joining Wyoming Mustangs Rays said – “I didn’t have my own identity and I still don’t. … I don’t even get my own identity. It’s always just, ‘Son of Hall of Famer Ray Lewis.’

He said after joining the Wyoming Mustangs professional indoor football team “I have my own identity now. I’m not trying to fill his shoes now. I have a different size and I have my own shoes to fill.”

He was on his way to do that before the ill fate caught him.

Thursday was unfortunate for the Lewis family. They lost their eldest son Ray Lewis the 3rd at just age of 28.

The reason for his death is currently unknown and there is nothing that comes from the official statement from the family. Although his brother posted Rahsaan posted a heartfelt story on his Instagram.

“Really can’t believe I’m even typing this but RIP big brother,” read the tribute.  “A true angel I pray you’re at peace now because IK how much you was rlly hurtin. I don’t and won’t ever have the words man cuz this pain right here….I love you I love you I love you.”

Other than that nothing comes from the family.

Lewis’s former coach Diego Ryland from Virginia Union University said “Very unfortunate. a great young man and a better teammate”

Rayland Said “The entire Virginia Union University community is praying for the family as they deal with the loss of Ray”.

The hope of making his own name one day and coming out from the shadows of his father’s professional football career was the only dream of the late Ray Lewis III.

May rest in peace Ray Lewis III.
