Ravindra Guides New Zealand to Victory in Cricket World Cup Warm-up Match
New Zealand kicked off their World Cup preparations in great style by beating Pakistan in a practice match at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. Rachin Ravindra, a left-handed opener, played a fantastic innings scoring 97 runs with some impressive shots all around the field. The experienced Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell also played well, both reaching half-centuries before taking a break from the game.
In the final moments of the match, Mark Chapman and James Neesham, known for their powerful hitting, outplayed the Pakistani bowlers. Pakistan struggled to match up to New Zealand’s performance throughout the game.
Earlier, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan cracked a brilliant century (103 retd., 94b, 9×4, 2×6).
Captain Babar Azam showed his class with a neatly-compiled 80 (84b, 8×4, 2×6) and southpaw Saud Shakeel (75, 53b, 5×4, 4×6) revelled with some extravagant strokes.
For the Kiwis, Santner (2/39) was the pick of the bowlers.
