Raphinha: It’s all about the three points
Raphinha gives his take on the win against Valencia
Despite losing Ronald Araujo courtesy of a red card, a 10-man Barcelona managed to keep hold of their lead and took all three points. Brazilian winger Raphinha scored the only goal in a 1-0 win against Valencia at Camp Nou.
It was from a lofted pass from Captain Sergio Busquets that Raphinha managed to head into the net.
It was a strange but successful showing from the Catalans who proved that they can hold on to a lead and defend with a man down.
What did Raphinha have to say?
Talking to Movistar, he said, “It was a difficult game and even more so after Araujo’s sending off. The important thing is that we keep on winning. We have three more points, which is important for the season.”
“I don’t see it as a disconnection. It’s difficult to play with one less player. We did what we needed to do, sit deeper, not concede a goal and we got the win.
“He was the last man and it’s normal. The Valencia player was going off on his own and in my opinion, it was a red card. Sometimes we have to do things for the good of the team.”
Barcelona now maintains a nine-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid. Out of the 24 leagues, the Catalans have won 20 while conceding just 8 goals this season.
