Quinn Ewers Opens Up About His Friendship with Arch Manning
Quinn Ewers, the current quarterback for Texas Longhorns, has shared some insights into his friendship with Arch Manning, the highly talented quarterback who recently joined the team. Despite the pressure surrounding Arch’s arrival, Ewers revealed that they have become great friends and get along really well.
During an interview at the Manning Passing Academy, Ewers emphasized that there’s no rivalry or animosity between them or any of the other quarterbacks on the team. They all have a good relationship and support each other.
Ewers’ words for Manning were, via On3 Sports, “Me and Arch are great buddies. I’ve known him — I got to know him pretty well in the recruiting process. We’ve only grown in our relationship. Like you said, we have a great relationship. We get along well. The whole quarterback room is just such a great group of guys. No one is trying to undercut somebody or try to get ahead in certain ways. We are just a good group of guys, great buddies. We’ve been hanging out together. Those are like my best friends, the people in the quarterback room.”
Ewers acknowledged that Arch comes from a famous football family and is a highly recruited player, but they don’t really talk about that stuff. Their main focus is on their own journeys and working together as a team.

Ewers continued, “Yeah, obviously Arch was highly recruited out of high school, obviously got a huge last name in the game of football. But yeah, we don’t really talk about it. You know, obviously, like you said, we both understand where we kind of came from and our upbringing. And I think both of us, we were kind of raised in a great way to where we have great people in our corner which allows us to kind of stay within ourselves and not branch out into all the commotion that’s going on in the outside world. We just kind of focus on what’s going on with us and our family and our good buddies.”
Last season, Ewers had some solid stats with a completion rate of 58.1%, 2,177 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He is currently the starting quarterback for the upcoming 2023 season, but if things don’t go well early on, there may be calls for Arch to have a chance as a true freshman.
The question remains: Will Ewers start every game this season? Only time will tell, but Ewers is determined and has the support of his teammates, including his good friend Arch Manning.
