Purpose of the Beast Eye in Elden Ring Explained
The Beast Eye is a valuable item granted by Gurranq, the Beastman Clergy in Elden Ring. Its function is not immediately clear upon receiving it. However, reaching Gurranq is a challenging task as most players encounter the NPC after vanquishing Tibia Mariner in Summonwater Village via the Sending Gate nearby. It’s important not to be alarmed, as the Beast Eye is a beneficial item that can aid you in receiving greater rewards from Gurranq.
What is the purpose of Elden Ring?
The purpose of the Beast Eye in Elden Ring becomes clearer as it alerts you when a nearby boss drops Deathroot, a valuable item that you can offer to Gurranq for better rewards. Whenever you are near a boss that drops Deathroot, a message will appear saying “The Beast Eye quivers,” and you should make an effort to defeat the boss. In addition, you can summon D, who directed you to the Sending Gate, to aid you in defeating the more challenging bosses that drop Deathroot. There is no shame in requesting assistance, especially if you are at a lower level.
Once you have obtained a Deathroot, return it to the Beastman Clergy for a reward. Gurranq will eventually become hostile, but dealing enough damage will bring him back to a friendly state, allowing you to continue bringing him Deathroot. While the Beast Eye and this side quest are optional, the rewards provided by Gurranq can benefit almost every type of build. Always be on the lookout for the Beast Eye message at the bottom of the screen to ensure that you don’t miss out on any Deathroot drops.
