Peyton Manning Lands Matthew Stafford for ‘Quarterback’ Season 2

After searching for a quarterback to feature in his Netflix series, Peyton Manning has found his choice. Jake Ellenbogen from Turf Show Times reports that Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford will be the star of Season 2 of Netflix’s “Quarterback.”

The first season of the show had famous quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota.

What’s interesting is the timing of this news. Just last week, Julian Sancton from The Hollywood Reporter mentioned that Manning was having trouble getting new quarterbacks for the upcoming season.

“But despite the success of the eight-episode series and support from its stars, the creators — Hall of Famer Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions in partnership with NFL Films — have struggled to get another group of quarterbacks to sign on for the second iteration before the league kicks off its regular season Sept. 7,” Sancton noted.

Matthew Stafford, who has won a Super Bowl and was the Comeback Player of the Year, should make for an exciting addition to this docuseries. It remains to be seen if Stafford’s involvement will encourage other quarterbacks to take part in the show.
