Paula Badosa’s Awkward Interview Moment at Wimbledon After Injury
Paula Badosa’s return to the tennis court at Wimbledon didn’t go as planned. Unfortunately, she had to stop playing during her match against Marta Kostyuk because of an injury.
Earlier this year, Badosa, who is 25 years old, couldn’t participate in the French Open due to a stress fracture in her spine.
After the match ended, things got really awkward during the press conference. A reporter mistakenly congratulated Badosa on her supposed win, but she quickly corrected them, saying, “I lost.”
Then, the reporter asked her about her fitness and confidence levels. Badosa, feeling frustrated, replied, “For your information, I just lost. I didn’t win.”

The person moderating the press conference chimed in, repeating, “She didn’t win,” which seemed to surprise the reporter.
Badosa admitted that her back injury was still bothering her on the court. She explained to the reporters, “The injury is the same as I have been struggling the past weeks. It’s the stress fracture. I tried my best to try to play here, but yesterday when I woke up I already, after my first-round match, felt it again. It’s a little bit worse. So I will need a few days off and talk to my team and see what I do in the next days and the next weeks.”
Let’s hope Badosa recovers well and is able to compete in the upcoming U.S. Open.
