Paul Finebaum Loves What Deion Sanders Said After Getting Blown Out
The Colorado Buffaloes improved to 2-0 with a victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday. The success, which came with a strong defensive effort, has piqued the interest of many individuals, including Paul Finebaum.
During an interview on SportsCenter, Finebaum claimed that Colorado’s victory was a wake-up signal to the rest of the country from head coach Deion Sanders.
“Can I beg the mercy of the court to forget everything I said up until now?” Paul Finebaum cracked a joke. “I realize Nebraska isn’t Florida State, Alabama, Texas, or even Georgia, but they’re still a respectable team, even if you can’t tell at the end of games.” But, to me, what Colorado achieved yesterday sends a clear message to the country that this is not a fluke.”
Finebaum proceeded to laud Colorado, drawing comparisons to last year’s TCU squad. He did, however, caution that the program will only get tougher from here.
“And in many ways, they’re starting to remind me of a school last year that went all the way to the national championship, and that is TCU,” Finebaum stated.
“The issues will begin in a few weeks. Colorado State is a breeze, but what about Oregon? That is one of the country’s toughest areas. When Caleb Williams and Lincoln Riley, as well as the rest of the world, arrive in Boulder in a few weeks, Tinseltown will be lit up.”
Colorado will face another adversary this week in Colorado State. Colorado began as a 20.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel. The game’s over/under is set at 57.5.
