Pac-12 Wish They Had Accepted ESPN Media Deal Before Its Collapse
Reportedly, Pac-12 turned down ESPN’s TV offer in 2022. Now that Pac-12 is on the verge of collapsing, they wish they had accepted the offer at that time.
According to the John Canzano, ESPN offered $30 million per school to the Pac-12 in 2022. Which conference declined the offer and said it was lower than expected.
The Pac-12 had an offer from ESPN of $30 million per school in the fall of 2022. The network wanted it all. But the presidents and chancellors wanted more.

“We said we want $50 million per school.”
ESPN's response?

ESPN offered $30 million per school plus all of the conference’s media rights, and the Pac-12 network. According to Canzano’s report, the Conference president and members rejected and asked for $50 million for every school.
If Pac-12 had accepted the offer at that time the situation might be different for the conference at present. With only four schools left Pac-12 is facing a serious crisis right now. USC, UCLA, Washington, and Oregon are joining the Big Ten, while Utah, Arizona, Arizona State, and Colorado are joining the Big 12.
Although, Pac-12 decided not to give up yet but still crazy to think how they are going to replace all those schools in such a short amount of time, and most importantly done their media deal right this time.
