Ohio State Buckeyes tight end Bennett Christian finally broke his silence over drug substances following his full-season suspension.
On Monday, press conference Bennett released the official statement of taking full responsibility for drug abuses, announced by head coach Ryan Day.
Bennett, a sophomore tight end, tested positive in January for the for a banned substance. In his recent statement, Christian talked about his past mistakes and revealed he won’t be able to play until January 2024.

“I want it to be known that I take responsibility for what goes into my body. It is important for all athletes to be educated on any supplement they take and everything that could be put in it. Please let this be a lesson to everyone.”

Bennett also shared how grateful he is for all the support and help of Ohio State’s program and promised to be the best teammate he can possibly be.
“I am sorry that I put myself in this position and even more disappointed to have let down my teammates, coaching staff and family. I accept responsibility for my actions and for this suspension. The Ohio State staff does an outstanding job educating us. This could have been so easily avoided had I reached out to our training staff about the supplement and confirmed it was within policy. That will forever be a lesson learned and something all athletes should be aware of going forward.”
Christian was a four-star recruit in the 2022 class. Looks like Bennett Christian learned his lesson during the suspension period and will come back soon in 2024 with a clean, healthy body and mindset.
