Ohio State makes a major change in the offense
A major change in coaching for Ohio State
It will be Brian Hartline as the new offensive coordinator for Ohio State. However, Hartline will be calling out plays on a temporary basis before someone else can come in. The Buckeyes are yet to find a new man for the role for the next season.
Ryan Day was the one who put his trust in Hartline and promoted him from a wide-receivers coach to offensive coordinator. Hartline is a prolific recruiter who came in for the departing Kevin Wilson. The latter is now working with Tulsa Golden Hurricanes. Hartline on the other hand will be the interim coach until the spring game.
Dan Hope from the Ohio State fan site named Eleven Warriors said, “Ryan Day meeting with the media now. He says Brian Hartline will call the offensive plays this spring, but they won’t make a final decision on who will call plays during the season until after spring.”
Where does Ryan Day stand himself?
It has been four years since Day took charge of the Buckeyes as the Head Coach. Unfortunately, he has been a victim of criticism both online and in the media. This comes as a consequence of the team’s poor performance against rivals Michigan over the last two campaigns. A contributing factor to this criticism is the shameful collapse in the 2023 College Football playoff semi-finals against Georgia.
Some fans, however, are in support of Day. They believe that the poor results are due to the coach having to deal with too many more problems than necessary. This may influence moments such as fake punts against the likes of Bulldogs and Wolverines leading to losses.
However, it is to see whether Day can turn around things for the better.
