ODI World Cup 2023 Winners and Runners-Up Prize Money Breakdown

The ODI World Cup 2023 is almost here, and the top 10 cricket teams from around the world are getting ready to compete for the championship. The total prize money for this international cricket event is a whopping $10 million (which is roughly ₹84 crore).
After the final match, which will take place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 19th November, the team that wins the tournament will receive a prize of $4 million (about ₹33 crore), while the team that comes in second place (the runners-up) will get $2 million (about ₹16.5 crore).
During the Group Stage matches, all 10 participating teams will face off against each other. For each victory in the Group Stage, a team will earn $40,000 (approximately ₹33 lakh). Even if a team doesn’t make it to the knockout rounds, they will still receive $100,000 (roughly ₹8.4 lakh).
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has also announced that this prize money arrangement will be a model for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2025. Both the men’s and women’s events will have equal prize money, as decided during the ICC’s Annual Conference in Durban, South Africa in July 2023.
The ODI World Cup 2023 will kick off on 5th October, featuring a match between the previous season’s finalists, England and New Zealand, in Ahmedabad. The Indian cricket team’s first match will be against Australia on 8th October at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Warm-up matches are scheduled to start on 29th September, and India will play two practice matches against England and Netherlands before entering the Group Stage on 8th October.
In an update regarding the Pakistan cricket team, the talented fast bowler Naseem Shah will miss the ODI World Cup 2023 due to an injury.
