Monday marks the return of Novak Djokovic to the Australian Open after a period of two years’ absence. According to Barbara Schett, a former US Open quarterfinalist, he can win every Grand Slam this year. The 21-time major champion hopes to outshine Rafael Nadal by becoming the player with the most Grand Slam victories in history.

This Year will Mark his First Appearance Since 2021

The Serbian is returning to Melbourne Park for the first time since taking home his 10th championship in 2021. Before the competition last year, he was deported for his anti-Covid vaccine position. The 21-time Grand Slam champion, who was then forced to miss out on the US Open for the same reason, triumphed at Wimbledon and is the overwhelming favorite at his most successful major competition.

Current Guidelines on the Entry of Foreign Residents into America

The most recent Covid travel limitations imposed by the US government reflect that he will have a difficult time in the months to come.

As of now the US guidelines currently state:

“All passengers to the United States are required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Only limited exceptions apply to this requirement.”

Barbara Schett, a former US Open quarterfinalist has provided the most kind-hearted prediction about what the Serb can do this year.

Scott said, “I think he can win every Grand Slam this year.”

she further added “He is an all-rounder. He feels comfortable on every surface. If he has 25 (majors) by the end of the year, anything is possible.”
