Northwestern University Fires Another Head Coach Amid Scandal
There’s been more trouble at Northwestern University as they have fired their second head coach this week. Jim Foster, who was in charge of the baseball team for only one season, has been let go due to accusations of bullying and creating a toxic environment within the program.
This decision comes shortly after the university fired their football coach, Pat Fitzgerald, because of a hazing scandal. According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, they had been working on firing Foster for a while, but the process got delayed because of the issues with Fitzgerald.

Even before the season began, there were investigations into Foster’s behavior by Northwestern’s human relations department. The Chicago Tribune found evidence that he was involved in bullying and abusive behavior.
There were also troubling claims made by Danny Parkins of 670 The Score. It was said that Foster discouraged players from getting proper medical help for their injuries, made insensitive comments about race, and even made inappropriate remarks to a female staff member.
Foster had a successful run at Army, where he won four Patriot League titles between 2017 and 2022. However, his time at Northwestern didn’t go as well, with the team achieving a disappointing 10-40 record under his leadership in just one season.
