Nike X Lebron James: Reintroduce Air Zoom Generation “Dark Gray”
LeBron James and Nike are preparing to release a new version of the Nike Air Zoom Generation sneakers in a color scheme called “Dark Gray”. This particular design pays tribute to the history of these iconic sneakers. The colorway features a stylish and uniform look with shades of dark gray, wolf gray, and anthracite.
If you’re a fan of sneakers, you can expect the Nike Air Zoom Generation All-Star “Dark Gray” to become available both online and in stores in the upcoming weeks of 2023. The suggested retail price for these sneakers is $190.
LeBron James’ remarkable journey to becoming a legendary basketball player began during his days at St. Vincent-St. Mary Catholic High School. Even before he was old enough to drive, he was already attracting a lot of media attention. Despite the enormous pressure placed on him as a promising basketball player, James surpassed everyone’s expectations and became a superstar in his own right. His partnership with Nike only served to increase his already massive following.
LeBron James’ professional basketball shoe line has now reached its 20th generation, and it has become known for featuring some of the most popular and desirable styles, particularly during Nike Basketball’s early 2010s era.
The Nike Air Zoom Generation was initially released in 2003, around the same time as the start of LeBron James’ NBA career. It was the first sneaker worn by the young James, and both the original and updated colorways were released for a few years. In 2017, the shoe was retroed or re-released, for the first time.
Following a brief hiatus, the Nike Air Zoom Generation is making a comeback in 2023 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. This time, it’s coming with an entirely new colorway called “Dark Gray”. The design features a triple-gray color scheme, combining dark gray and anthracite hues. To avoid making the color scheme appear dull and repetitive, contrasting materials are used throughout the shoe. Although the suede material is consistent throughout the shoe, the fineness of the grain varies to create an attractive visual effect.
In addition, the shoe’s gray sock liners and insoles are adorned with LeBron’s name in metallic silver glitter. The iconic crown logos, which are synonymous with King James, are featured on the tongue flaps in black hues. The design is rounded off with the swooshes, which are placed on the lace dubrae and the lateral side walls to add the finishing touch.
In addition to the “Dark Gray” colorway, Nike is set to make a splash in the sneaker market with two classic colorways of the Nike Air Zoom Generation. These colorways are known as “1st Game” and “Debut”. Sneaker enthusiasts can purchase these shoes through various channels, such as online stores, physical retail locations, and the SNKRS app. The suggested retail price for both colorways is $190 per pair.
