Nick Kyrgios on choosing to play tennis instead of basketball

Nick Kyrgios has declared that he had no regrets about pursuing a career in tennis rather than basketball.

Kyrgios has not played tennis since early this year due to arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. He only played in one tournament this year, the Stuttgart Open, when he lost in the first round. He was also unable to compete in any of this year’s four Grand Slams.

The 28-year-old recently resorted to social media and invited his admirers to send in questions for him to answer. Given his love of basketball, one fan wondered whether he would consider pursuing a career in the sport if he could start over.

In response, Nick Kyrgios stated that there are times when he considers the enjoyment that may have been gained by pursuing a basketball career. He did, however, reflect on the great influence he has had on his family and friends as a result of his decision to play tennis, leaving him with “no regrets.”

“Sometimes I think to myself that I should have chosen basketball… For my happiness, but then I think about what I’ve been able to do for my family and close circle and now have no regrets ☀️ ,” Kyrgios said.
