After retiring as a player, Butkus made a name for himself in the entertainment world as an actor, appearing in films like “The Longest Yard,” “Any Given Sunday,” and “MacGyver.” He also worked as an NFL analyst, starting locally with the Bears on radio broadcasts before going national with CBS.
Butkus didn’t stop at football and entertainment; he was also a philanthropist. He dedicated his time to causes like community service, heart health, and helping young athletes avoid performance-enhancing drugs.
While the football world mourns his loss, Dick Butkus’s legacy as an NFL icon will live on.
