NFL Fines Exceed $350,000 in Recent Weekend

The NFL is trying to reduce the number of penalties for bad behavior on the field. But instead, they’re sending out a lot of fine notices every week.

After Week 5, they fined 29 players from 18 different teams. The fines varied from $4,843 given to Reed Blankenship for playing too rough, to A.J. Epenesa’s $21,855 fine for a hit on a quarterback.

In total, the NFL handed out fines worth $358,357 this week. It’s important to mention that this money usually goes to programs that help former NFL players, not into the pockets of the team owners.

Many NFL fans have been talking about these fines for a long time. Most people think the league is becoming too lenient and not tough enough.
