NFL Fans Offer Support to Saints Player Demario Davis and His Family

After the New Orleans Saints’ win against the Tennessee Titans, Demario Davis, a veteran linebacker, held a special press conference. He had something personal to share: his daughter had a seizure on Friday. It’s the same daughter who had previously beaten retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer.

“It was on Friday when a bunch of kids were over at the house and she was playing and I noticed something was off,” Davis explained. “And I told her mom that I thought she was having a seizure. Her mom was pretty good. She saw it, my wife (Tamela). We took her in the room and didn’t want to cause a scene and she started to foam at the mouth. It was her worst seizure.”

He went on to say, “For 30 minutes, she seized. She wouldn’t calm. We had to call the paramedics. They came, and so over the course of time, it had been a total of 30 minutes, they got her in. My wife got in the paramedics with her. I got behind them driving. You could imagine all the thoughts that’s racing through your mind. The last sight you see of your daughter is she’s totally out of it.”

People from the NFL community are offering their support and prayers to Davis and his family.

One fan wrote, “Man listen! When you know where your help comes from!”

“Let’s go Demario Davis!! My new favorite Saint – athletically & spiritually!!” said another fan.

“This is beautiful. I sent this to my sons. We’re all Saints fans and love Demario Davis. What a great story of God’s faithfulness,” added a fan.

“What a testimony!” exclaimed another supporter.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Demario Davis and his family during this difficult time.
