NFL Coach Tony Oden Gets Caught In Jets, Buccs Fight At Practice
Jets assistant coach Tony Oden got caught in the New York Jets and Tempa Bay Buccaneers fight during the Practice match.
Things always get pretty serious at NFL training camp when two teams practice with each other. The New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently engaged in joint practice to advance for their preseason game on Saturday.
On Wednesday, During the practice, the two teams got into a scuffle. Unfortunately, Jets assistant coach for defensive and cornerbacks Tony Oden got caught in the middle of the fight. Oden got hurt and had to be taken to the hospital. According to Jets head coach Robert Saleh, Oden was a victim of “friendly fire” during the altercation
Saleh updated the reporter later and said, “He’s doing fine. I’m not exactly sure what happened. I know it was during one of the altercations. I think he caught some friendly fire. He’s awake. He’s doing fine. He’s stable.”
50-year-old Oden is a veteran and the Jets’ are his 8th franchise in his NFL coaching career. He joined New York’s staff in 2021 with Saleh when the head coach came over from the San Francisco 49ers.
Thankfully Tony Oden didn’t end up badly.
