New Punishment For Players Who Bet On Games In NFL

The NFL is being stricter about players betting on their own games. Betting on any NFL game is against the rules, but some players still do it.

Last year, Calvin Ridley from the Jacksonville Jaguars was suspended for a whole season because he was gambling. This year, Jameson Williams from the Detroit Lions got a six-game suspension for the same reason.

For that reason, NFL has decided to have some new rules and punishments for the players who bet on games in NFL.

Under the new rules, if a player bets on his own team, he’ll be banned for the next two years. Betting on any NFL game will lead to a one-year suspension.

If a player bets on a non-NFL game, he’ll be suspended for two games. If it happens again, he’ll be out for six games, and if it occurs a third time, he’ll be suspended for a full season.

These new rules will start right away.
