New Orleans Saints Let Go of Former College Football Star Lynn Bowden Jr. Before Roster Deadline

Big choices are happening in football right now because teams need to decide who will be on their 53-player squads by this Tuesday. One of these decisions involves the New Orleans Saints, who have decided to say goodbye to a player who used to be a star in college football.

Lynn Bowden Jr., who was really good when he played in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), is a wide receiver. The Saints released him from their team, and this information comes from Nick Underhill, who writes for NewOrleans.Football. The Saints made this decision because they have to make sure their team is set up just right.

Bowden used to play for the University of Kentucky, and the Saints chose him as the 79th overall pick in the NFL draft. He officially joined the Saints in June. Although they let him go recently, he did well when he played in the practice games before the real season started.

In one of the recent practice games, Bowden caught the ball two times and gained 37 yards by doing that. He also did a good job when he returned kicks – he got 41 yards from two kickoffs.

Since the Saints decided to release him, Bowden now has to find another team where he can play. But there’s still a chance he could be part of the Saints’ practice team, which means he would practice a lot and help the main team when they practice too.

Teams that are looking for a player who can do different things on the field might be interested in Bowden. In his last year in college, he did some amazing things: he ran for 1,468 yards, threw for 403 yards, and caught passes for 348 yards. He was so good that he won an award called the Paul Hornung Award.
