Draymond Green is a valuable player for the Golden State Warriors.   Green is averaging 7.9 points, 6.9 assists, and 7.7 rebounds per game. He is also a four-time NBA champion. But there have been rumors about his trade recently.

Green is an important player on the team, but people believe he should explore as a free agent too, and the Warriors should trade him and build up their roster.

According to Sean Deveney of Heavy Sports, when he spoke with an NBA executive, Devney was told,” They should [trade him this year], If they made the decision that they’re not giving up any of the young kids, then that’s fine, but are you going to just keep chugging forward with what you’ve got? Obviously, the Draymond punch with [Jordan] Poole was a bigger deal than they let on, it is still dragging down that team. No doubt about it.”

Green may not remain with the Warriors forever

Even Draymond Green made it clear that he cannot remain a Warrior forever. He sees the business side of the game as well, so the financial aspect is always above basketball in NBA.

He shared his thoughts via Taylor Rooks’ show. Green said, “Quite frankly, the writing’s on the wall. I understand the business. We tend to get into this mindset of someone owes us something because of what we’ve accomplished. You’d be an idiot to walk around feeling that way. I feel like you’re just setting yourself up for failure. You’re setting yourself up for heartbreak, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. As opposed to saying no, ‘let me learn this business.’ If you don’t get to know this business then you can be blind-sighted and be like ‘oh man well everything I done there I thought I’d be there forever.’ I would love to be. But I understand the luxury tax, I understand you got these young guys and contracts up and they have to get paid. Like, I understand all of those things.”
