Asia Cup 2022 is all set and will be commencing very soon. All the six teams are preparing to take this Asia Cup trophy back home and which team will be winning this time can’t be predicted. India cricket team which is the most successful team in Asia Cup after winning seven titles till now, India will be defending their title this time.
The Asia Cup will begin on August 27, 2022, and will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with Sri Lankan Cricket serving as the host. Sri Lanka will play Afghanistan in their first match in Dubai, while India will face Pakistan. The squad for the upcoming season has been announced, and all of the cricketers are full of energy. Lasith Malinga
Lasith Malinga is one of the best bowlers in the limited over ever. Malinga the Slinga has taken 33 wickets overall in 15 matches he was part of in Asia Cup. He is the only bowler to take 4 wickets in 4 balls twice in international matches. This right-arm fast bowler is used as a death bowler specialist in the game. He is popular for taking consecutive wicket ability with in-swinging yorkers. Malinga took his retirement from all forms of cricket on 14 September 2014.
Muttiah Muralitharan
Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka has taken 30 wickets in 24 Asia Cup matches. Muralitharan holds numerous bowling records, including being the highest wicket-taker in Test matches. Muralitharan is probably the best bowler in the history of cricket and there are various honors he got that can prove that. His excellent bowling style is also the reason for beset his career with various controversies. But the international cricket council clears all this discussion after biomechanical analysis under simulated conditions.
Ajantha Mendis
Ajantha Mendis previously represented Sri Lanka in all three formats of the game. His bowling has unusual variations, earning him the moniker “mystery spinner.” Mendis took 26 wickets in the Asia Cup before retiring from international cricket in 2015. Ajantha holds several records, including the fastest 50 wickets in ODI matches. Mendis is also the only bowler to take six wickets in a Twenty20 International, which he accomplished twice.
Saeed Ajmal
Pakistani bowler, Ajmal has taken 25 wickets in 8 matches throughout his career in Asia Cup. In 2008. He was suspected of his bowling action but Pakistan help him clear all those accusations after which he become part of the ICC World Twenty20 winning team in 2009. Ajmal was ranked at the top of ODI bowlers by the International cricket council from November 2011 to December 2014. Ajmal Announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on 13 November 2017.

Shakib Al Hasan
Shakib Al Hasan, an all-rounder of the Bangladesh cricket team has grabbed 24 wickets in Asia Cup. He is the current captain of the test cricket team of Bangladesh. Shakib is probably the best cricketer that Bangladesh has ever seen, his slow left-arm orthodox is the reason behind it. Shakib Al Hasan is not only good in cricket he is also a brilliant batter of the middle order with his offensive play. In 2019, ESPN ranked him the 90th most famous athlete in the world.
Chaminda Vaas
Chaminda Vaas is the fastest bowler on the Sri Lankan cricket team. Chaminda Vaas has taken 23 wickets in 19 matches in the Asia Cup. Chaminda Vaas was the former captain of Sri Lanka’s One-Day International team. He holds several records in one-day international matches, including an 8-wicket haul in an ODI. Chaminda played the role of support for Muttiah Muralitharan during his career. Only three bowlers have taken more wickets in ODI than Vaas as of February 2022.

Mashrafe Mortaza
Mashrafe is one of Bangladesh’s most successful ODI and T20I captains. He used to play every type of cricket. He is the fifth bowler in ODI history to have 100 wickets. In 24 Asia Cup matches, he has taken 23 wickets. Mortaza has been forced to retire from cricket due to knee and ankle injuries that required ten operations to heal. Despite numerous treatments for his injuries, he was unable to return to his former self.
