Montez Sweat Trade Offer For Commanders
If the Commanders decide to trade players before the trade deadline, it looks like they won’t have trouble finding a suitable contender for defensive end Montez Sweat. A team has already made an offer for him, although the details of the offer are not clear yet.
Sweat, who was a first-round pick from Mississippi State, has had a great season with 27 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in just seven games.
Since he’s in the final year of his contract, trading him now when his value is high makes a lot of sense for the Commanders.
One team has made a trade offer to the Commanders for DE Montez Sweat but none so far have offered for DE Chase Young, per source. Unclear of the terms of the offer for Sweat.

On the other hand, there hasn’t been an offer for Chase Young yet. The former No. 2 pick is gradually getting back to his 2020 form. In the recent game against the Giants, he made three tackles and two sacks.
The Commanders might wait until after their game against the Eagles on Sunday to decide if they’ll sell more players before the deadline.
