Milan renews interest in Arsenal’s Balogun
Arsenal academy product Folarin Balogun has recently been in the limelight, especially after gaining interest from AC Milan. The young striker is having his breakout season while being on loan with Reims.
The 21-year-old has been leading the scoring charts in Ligue 1 with 14 goals to his name which is more than anyone from PSG’s trio of Paris Saint-Germain’s superstar trio Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, and Lionel Messi.
Interested Clubs
Milan is known to have had their eyes on the US-born striker ever since his academy days at Arsenal. His form in professional football has further proved his caliber for those who wish to seek his signature.
Reims themselves are interested in keeping the forward on a permanent basis. Moreover, Marseille and Villareal are known to be keeping tabs on the striker.
Balogun’s recent stance and form have made both the player and Arsenal consider their future.
Current Situation at Arsenal
The striker is on a contract that runs for two more seasons. Besides, Balogun has been grateful for the opportunity and trust that Reims gave him. However, his place in the Arsenal squad is way narrower than he imagined. He would effectively be the third choice behind Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.
Come the summer of 2023, the Gunners will have to make up their mind on Balogun. The club is aware that they can secure a decent value out of the striker if they put him up for sale.
