Mike McCarthy is Really Excited To Face Kellen Moore

This NFL season, The Dallas Cowboys are set to face the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday. This match is going to be one of the most exciting ones as it will be a “revenge game” for Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

Moore was the offensive coordinator of the Cowboys from 2019-2022. The two sides mutually agreed to part ways following last postseason’s loss to the 49ers.

Speaking to the media Friday, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy was asked if coaching against Moore will add a “personal element” to Monday night’s game.

“No, not really,” McCarthy said. “There’s really no bells and whistles for this one. This is Game 6. My focus has always been, and it’s really the way I view schedules, I think a lot of NFL scheduling is it’s not as much who you play it’s when you play them. (Chargers are coming off their bye week) … He obviously has an excellent opportunity that he’s doing a very nice job with.”

The Chargers offense, led by their coach Moore, is doing really well, ranking in the top five for the number of yards they gain per game (388.8). But the Cowboys are not doing as great, they’re ranked 16th, gaining 327.4 yards per game.

The Cowboys’ defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn, might find it hard to stop the Chargers’ offense on Monday night, especially if Chargers’ quarterback Justin Herbert is playing at his best.

The game between the Cowboys and the Chargers starts at 8:15 p.m. ET.
