McIlroy Rant Over The PGA Tour, Saudi-Funded LIV Merger, Called Himself ‘Sacrificial Lamb’
Despite all the odds the Biggest Merger of Two Golf organization finally happened on Wednesday leaving so many players betrayed and McIlroy is one of them.
Rory McIlroy was a four-time prominent champion Golfer who is against the LIV merger since the beginning of the time. He’s not only raised his voice against the union of the PGA Tour and Saudi-funded LIv Golf organizations but also stand firm on his ground and didn’t change his mind.
According to the GolfChannel in an interview, McIlroy said “It’s hard for me to not sit up here and feel somewhat like a sacrificial lamb, and feeling like I’ve put myself out there and this is what happens,”
Rory was in the player meeting on Tuesday where other PGA players accused Jay Monahan, the commissioner of The PGA Tour of why they were not aware about the Tour taking money from the Public Investment Fund runs by Saudi- Arabia and called him ‘Hypocrite’.
On more of this topic, McIlroy said at the RBC Canadian Open, “Again, removing myself from the situation, I see how this is better for the game of golf. There’s no denying that,” he said, “But for me as an individual, yeah, there’s just going to have to be conversations that are had.”
In the end, the champion wrapped up his thoughts and said “I still hate LIV — like, I hate LIV,” McIlroy said. “I hope it goes away. And I would fully expect that it does. And I think that’s where the distinction here is.”
Let’s see what the future beholds for this union.
