Unlucky day for Frenchman as he missed the penalty twice and get injured

It was a night to forget for Kylian Mbappe who got injured after failing to convert two straight penalties.  The French forward was seen limping on one leg during the game against Montpellier.

The World Champion was forced off the pitch during the first half following a rough challenge. He was seen clutching his right leg while cameras also spotted him rubbing the back of his left thigh while walking back to the dressing room.

PSG manager seemed optimistic regarding the striker’s injury. After claiming 3 points from the match, he said, “Is it a bruise? We don’t know yet. It doesn’t look very serious,” “We’re not too worried.”

The penalty misses

Early in the first half, PSG was awarded the spot-kick opportunity, thanks to VAR. This came as a result of center-back Christopher Jullien pulling Sergio Ramos.

It was Benjamin Lecomte in goal who saved Mbappe’s first shot on target. However, the official on the pitch asked for the penalty to be taken again. Once again, the keeper made a miraculous save as he got a hand on the ball which hit the right post.

As the rebound came onto Mbappe, unlucky again, he skied the ball over the crossbar.

The PSG striker scored a hat trick in the World Cup final which included two penalties against Argentina. However, his continuous failed efforts to put the ball into the net left him stunned.

Mbappe was substituted in the 21st minute as he kept on pointing toward his knee. at down and pointed to his leg following a challenge. Soon after, the veteran, Sergio Ramos left the field in the 30th minute following an injury.

The veteran central defender Ramos went off injured after about 30 minutes.

Next, it is Bayern Munich, who awaits the Parisians for the first leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League on Feb. 14.
