Max Homa shares hilarious basketball encounter with Keenan Allen
One of the greatest golfers in the world, according to many, is Max Homa. The eighth-ranked player in the world has competed in several events on the greatest stages of golf. Homa’s collegiate sporting career did, however, include a humorous episode in which he confused a basketball for a golf ball.
Homa reminisced about his unfortunate basketball experience in a recent episode of SiriusXM’s Smylie Show. He shared a humorous anecdote about his time playing hoops with future NFL standout Keenan Allen. A basketball game was played between the men’s CalTech football team and the men’s golf squad.
Max Homa appeared to be only trying to stay up, characterizing the game as a difficult battle. Homa stated:
“I’m protecting Keenan, and I won’t claim that I held my own in any way. He is on a little break. He couldn’t go all the way up since I was on his arm.
Max Homa felt really good about himself and thought he was playing the game pretty effectively. Homa turned to face his teammates after making a block against Keenan Allen that he could not believe.
“I got him on the background, and he’s going to lay it in. I arrived and had my one-minute opportunity to shine in the Sun. I made this face like, “Did anybody see that!”.”
How Max Homa’s boasting about Keenan Allen during a basketball game led to shame
Homa appeared to have become engrossed in the moment, and while he was admiring his block in the middle of the game, catastrophe was imminent for him.
“I was gloating for a split second when I turned to catch the ball, and the tall, wide receiver snatched it out of my hands and sprang. He smokes my face with his n**ts and two-hand dunks. Thus, I burnt up in the Sun exactly as quickly as any human has ever burned up.”
It goes without saying that Homa found the situation to be quite humiliating. Now that I think about it, though, Homa finds it to be a really humorous story to tell. He made the appropriate decision in favor of golf balls over basketballs.
