Max Homa laughs off forgettable seasons comparison with Smylie Kaufman
Max Homa produced an incredible round at the Nedbank Golf Challenge at the Gary Player Country Club. He won by four strokes over Nicolai Hojgaard to claim his first-ever victory on the DP World Tour.
Homa recently appeared on the professional golfer Smylie Kaufman’s show, The Smylie Show. Kaufman asked the 33-year-old golfer to choose between the two statistically worst versions of themselves in the interview. The golfer let out a laugh and stated:
“The pro shop for the golf balls that need to be purchased is the winner of this match. Undoubtedly, that is one of them. It would not be attractive. We would not be able to have someone caddy for us, I promise. Nobody could agree to sit there and observe.”

We cover a ton here – some great @CalMensGolf stories, breaking down swing video, and an honest look at the struggles both of us experienced in golf … which we of course ended with oddsmaking for a match between the two of us in our worst @PGATOUR… pic.twitter.com/Wpsi2TWMO3
By contrasting his 2018 season stats with Max Homa’s 2017 season data, Smylie Kaufman posed the query. Out of the 17 starts he made in 2018, Kaufman was only able to make one cut. Homa, however, lost his card after making only two cuts in 17 games in 2017.
