Marcedes Lewis To Join Chicago Bears, Set to Break NFL Record in 2023
Marcedes Lewis, a veteran NFL tight end, has exciting news for the 2023 season! He’s now part of the Chicago Bears team, and this move could make history.
NFL expert Tom Pelissero shares that Lewis is entering his 18th season in the NFL. If he completes this season, he’ll break the tie with other great tight ends, Jason Witten and Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez, for the most seasons ever played by a tight end.
Let’s take a look at Lewis’s impressive journey so far. He was drafted in the first round back in 2006 by the Jacksonville Jaguars and played 12 successful seasons with them. In 2010, he earned the esteemed Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors for his outstanding performance.

After his tenure with the Jaguars, Lewis made a big move in 2018, joining the Green Bay Packers. During his five seasons there, he played alongside the talented quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Throughout his incredible career, Lewis has played in 251 games, starting an impressive 221 of them. He’s made a whopping 432 receptions for 5,084 yards and scored 39 touchdowns.
Now, Lewis is thrilled to take the field with the Chicago Bears, and this might be his final season. It’s not common to see players in a skill position enjoy such a long career, so he’s determined to make the most of every moment.
As we eagerly look forward to the 2023 season, one question remains: Will Lewis’s experience and skills have a significant impact on the Chicago Bears?
