Luke List made a prediction and delivered a victory at Sanderson Farms Championship
On Sunday, October 8, Luke List won his second PGA Tour championship at the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship. In a playoff, the American golfer won with a birdie putt from 45 feet.
The golfer, though, had predicted his triumph a week before the competition. Luke List’s wife, Chloe, congratulated him on his victory and stated that the golfer told her about the game.
In an interview with a PGA Tour journalist, Chloe stated:
“It’s phenomenal. Last week, Luke was like I’m so excited. I’m gonna go win one of these fall events. He was like, I’m finally feeling good, I’m playing well, and then (he won).”
On Thursday, October 5, Luke List began his round with a bogey on the first hole, followed by two birdies on the following two holes. He teed off on the tenth hole, followed by three more birdies on the front nine and a bogey on the final hole of the first half. He shot 66 after three birdies on the back nine.
The American golfer began the second round with another birdie on the opening hole. On the next hole, he made a second birdie. He had three birdies and one bogey on the first nine holes of the second day, then four birdies on the last nine holes to finish with a 66.
Luke List finished the third round with four birdies and a score of 68. He began the fourth round with a bogey on the second hole and added a birdie on the third hole.
In the final round, he had four birdies and three bogeys for a total of 18-under-par 270. He finished alongside Ben Griffin, Ludvig Aberg, Scott Stallings, and Henrik Norlander in a tie. He won the PGA Tour tournament with a birdie putt in a playoff.
The 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship had an extraordinary five-person playoff on Sunday, with Luke List winning the PGA Tour event.
Luke List stated (through the PGA Tour) regarding the playoffs:
“It’s been a complete roller coaster ride.” I persevered. I didn’t believe it’d be enough, yet here we are. “What a crazy 20 minutes.”
His wife and children began celebrating his remarkable triumph when he scored a birdie in the playoffs. It was a great occasion for the golfer because his family accompanied him.
“I think all of my emotions came out after that putt, and then it was just shock, really.” But the fact that they are present means everything. My son was a little smaller in the last one, and he’s just starting to get into golf. But my wife is fantastic, and her consistency and tenacity in keeping me level and optimistic is a job in and of itself,” Luke added.
“It’s just hard sometimes to believe in myself, and she’s always got my back.” “Having her and my kids here was really special,” he continued.
Ludvig Aberg finished second in the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship in a tie with Ben Griffin, Scott Stallings, and Henrik Norlander.
