Luis Enrique to move to the Premier League
Luis Enrique fancies a move to the Premier League with links to Tottenham
Luis Enrique said that he is open to a move to the Premier League after leaving Spain. At the same time, he seemed to end the possibility of him taking the Paris Saint-Germain job.
The Spaniard has previously coached the likes of Roma and FC Barcelona and even the Spanish National team. However, Enrique now fancies coaching in the Premier League.
What did Enrique have to say?
The Spaniard relieved from his duties as Spain coach after getting knocked out in the World Cup round of 16. Since then, Enrique revealed that has received numerous offers from various national teams. However, the 52-year-old is keen to join a top team with links of him being approached by Tottenham.
Enrique said, “I would like to go to England to work. But I don’t see myself in the Premier in July, because I would like to go to a team there that can do important things and that is very difficult. I would not go to any Premier team.”
Enrique also admitted reading the English press: “Since the World Cup ended, I haven’t read the Spanish press, I haven’t seen social networks, I only read the English press. You can’t pretend or like everyone or control what they say about you. The important thing is to be calm and enjoy the things you like.”
The former Blaugrana manager is one of the most exciting and realistic candidates to replace Antonio Conte at Spurs. However, Tottenham have decided to postpone the hiring of a new manager until the new season.
