LSU Gymnast Olivia Dunne Offers Valuable Advice to Student-Athletes
LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne is a social media sensation with millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram. Despite her internet fame, Dunne remains committed to her studies and athletics, and she recently shared some valuable advice with her fellow student-athletes.
On Snapchat, Dunne was asked what three pieces of advice she would give to student-athletes. Her response was straightforward:
“Find a balance between school, sports, and social life and try to stick to a routine. On your off days, take time to rest and do things you enjoy outside of your sport. And finally, eat properly because it can be a long day.”
Dunne’s dedication to her sport has paid off, as she and her LSU Tigers teammates have earned the No. 2 seed in the Denver Regional of the NCAA Gymnastics Championships. The Tigers, led by head coach Jay Clark, went 8-5 during the season and finished third in the SEC Championships.
“We are excited to take the next step in our climb out in Denver,” Clark said. “Their program does a good job at hosting these events. I’m sure it will be a good community out there and we hope to see some of our fans come out. There are no easy outs once we get into the bracket and we know we will need to be at our best to advance to the round of 16.”
In the Denver Regional, the Tigers will compete against Oregon State, Georgia, and Nebraska. With Dunne’s advice in mind, the LSU team will strive to maintain a healthy balance between academics, athletics, and self-care as they aim to secure a spot in the NCAA Gymnastics Championships.
