Lions RB Justin Jackson Retire Early At The Age Of 27

Detroit Lions running back Justin Jackson decided to retire early at the age of 27.

Justin Jackson saying goodbye to his NFL career early. Justin was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2018. Justin played four seasons of his NFL career in the Los Angeles Chargers.

Jackson rushed for a total of 1,040 yards and four touchdowns in his four years with the Chargers. Before he signed a year contract with the Detroit Lions in 2022 agreed on an average annual salary of $1,080,000.

Jackson only had 170 rushing yards and one touchdown in 2022. Justin’s sudden retirement is surprisingly breaking news as he signed a deal with Detroit a few weeks ago to stay on the team.

Via Sports Illustrated, the team announced the signing of running back Benny Snell. 25-year-old Snell played for the Steelers in 2019-2022 and in his NFL career recorded 982 yards.

In his collegiate time, he had over 1,000 rushing yards in each of four seasons separately. Jackson is also one of only nine players in NCAA history to rush for 1,000 yards in four separate seasons.

It is sad that one of the prolific running backs Justin Jackson retiring early.
