Lindsey Horan and Alex Morgan Named Captains for USWNT in 2023 FIFA World Cup
Lindsey Horan and Alex Morgan have been chosen as the captains for the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) for the upcoming and awaited 2023 FIFA World Cup. The team’s head coach, Vlatko Andonovski, made the exciting announcement, praising their experience and leadership qualities.

Both Horan and Morgan have been through intense matches and know what it takes to succeed at the highest level. Horan, who’s 27 years old, has previously captained the U.S. team nine times since October 2021. Morgan, on the other hand, is 34 and has led the team on 22 occasions. She’s also represented the United States in four World Cups.
With the USWNT entering the World Cup as favorites, having Horan and Morgan as captains adds even more strength and leadership to the team. Their guidance, both on and off the field, will play a crucial role in guiding the squad toward success in the tournament.
The 2023 FIFA World Cup kicks off on July 21, and the USWNT’s first match will be against Vietnam in the Group stage. Fans are eagerly anticipating the performance of the newly appointed captains as they lead the team’s campaign in pursuit of another World Cup title.
