LeBron James often presents a favorable image on social media, opting to highlight the good and block out the negative. However, James appeared to share a moment of reflection on Sunday when Kyrie Irving was traded from the Nets to the Mavericks.

According to several sources, Brooklyn decided to negotiate a trade with Dallas rather than the Lakers.

The Lakers reportedly “stated confidence” that they could get Irving in a trade that featured Russell Westbrook and a first-round draught selection, according to SNY. It didn’t work out like that.

The Nets believed that the Mavericks’ trade would better position them to win now, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Along with a number of draught selections, the Lakers are thought to have included Russell Westbrook in their deal. Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, an unprotected first-round selection in 2029, as well as second-round picks in 2027 and 2029, will be sent to the Nets in exchange for Irving.

It’s a very ambiguous way to express sadness, evoking old-school away notes on Myspace or AIM songs, but it makes one thing clear to the NBA community: LeBron isn’t thrilled the Lakers didn’t sign his pal.
