James surpasses the all-time assist record
While playing against the New York Knicks, James just needed nine assists to break Steve Nash and Mark Jackson’s records. He finished the game with 11 dimes and was the only player to have a triple-double. During the game, he averaged 28 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds.
LeBron shared his views on breaking the two icons’ assist record. He was happy to stand alongside Nash and Jackson. Along with the Lakers’ 129-123 win over the Knicks, he mentioned that it is ‘’cool’’ to get in Nash’s territory.
James said,” “It’s amazing because that’s just what I love to do—get my guys involved and try to put the ball on time and on target with my guys … Any time you’re linked with some of the greats [is a cool thing]. Mark Jackson played here, he was drafted by the Knicks, so it’s super cool. Obviously, you know with Nash, I played against him for many many years and his ability to pass the ball was very uncanny.”
