The Los Angeles Lakers were among the most successful franchise in the NBA. But their progress is degrading day by day.
LeBron James joined the Lakers in the year 2018. People viewed his joining with surprise.
Though the Lakers were doing well back then, now they are not in a very good position. Before James joined, the Lakers could not make it to the 5 playoff seasons. They even missed his first playoff season. Later, they took Anthony Davis in the team and won the title in 2020. They did not get success in the playoff seasons after winning the Championship trophy. It was because of some bad decisions that led to the downfall of the Lakers in the playoff season. Even after witnessing this all, LeBron signed an extension with the franchise. The decision seems wrong somehow. The front office has failed to bring improvements in the roster, and also Lakers’ failed attempt to get Kyrie Irving, who ended up in the Mavericks, can lead to the team’s downfall.

Ever since the front office made the decision, there were no significant improvements in the roster, and also they could not get Irving, the Lakers’ fans have been furious about James’ extension of the contract. Some even said that he made a wrong career decision by doing so.

It is unclear whether James did this because he trusted the front office, or he wants to stay with the Lakers because he did not want to leave his family.
