League of Legends Patches 13.2 and 13.3 Delayed Due to Social Engineering Attack on Riot Games
Riot Games has announced that it has been the victim of a “Social Engineering Attack”. The company, which has recently come under criticism for the quality of its Season 2023 Cinematic and the layoffs of 46 employees, has confirmed the attack on its official Twitter account.
The attack may affect the release of upcoming League of Legends patches 13.2 and 13.3, and major updates such as Ahri’s ASU. The company has stated that it is still aiming to deliver Patch 13.2 on time, but there is a possibility that some major changes, such as the ones mentioned, may be delayed.
Gameplay Analyst Ray “RiotRayYonggi” Williams, speaking on the League of Legends subreddit, stated that “this is a really painful experience for both players and developers, it sucks to potentially not get content out to you all on time/as expected, especially when the work is done and ready to ship.” He added that the balance team will include as many changes as possible and then look to hotfix the remaining changes as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, Williams couldn’t go into any specific details regarding the attack and its direct impact, for security reasons. He did say that the team is assessing all of its options to get players as much of the gameplay-relevant content as possible.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, Riot Games is working to minimize the impact of the “Social Engineering Attack” on its upcoming patches and major updates. Although there may be some delays, the company is still aiming to deliver Patch 13.2 on time and include as many changes as possible. Players will have to wait and see what the outcome of this situation will be, but Riot Games is dedicated to providing the best gaming experience possible for its fans.
