Las Vegas Raiders Chandler Jones Claims Hospitalized Against Will
Chandler Jones, a defensive end for the Las Vegas Raiders, claims the Las Vegas Fire Department forced him to go to a hospital and, subsequently, a behavioural health institution last week.
Jones made the assertions in a series of social media posts, naming Raiders leaders such as owner Mark Davis, general manager Dave Ziegler, and head coach Josh McDaniels.
Jones stated in one post, “First day out, but I’m still aligned,” and then attached a patient rights document from Seven Hills Behavioral Health Hospital.
Jones, 33, has yet to play this season after being placed on the non-football sickness list last week.
Jones claims that the Las Vegas Fire Department arrived at his home to notify him that the Las Vegas Police Department had a “court hold” on him and that when he was transported in an ambulance, medical professionals injected him with a chemical without his consent.
“I’ve done nothing wrong. “The police said people were worried about me because of my online posts,” Jones wrote.
The four-time Pro Bowler stated that he was transferred to Southern Hills facility in Spring Valley, Nevada, and then to the psychiatric facility, and that he attempted to call Ziegler many times and left voicemails “for help and I wondered if he had me put in here, but he never answered.”
“I’m still unsure what I did wrong.” I’m trapped here. “I’m perfectly normal,” Jones stated. “I’m too [sic] strong of a person to be mentally broken.”
Jones expressed his desire to leave the organization earlier this month in a since-deleted social media post after being barred from the team facilities and forced to work out at a gym.
Jones is in his second season with the Raiders, having previously played for the Arizona Cardinals and the New England Patriots. Last year, he agreed to a three-year, $51 million contract with Las Vegas.
